A Life Imprisoned at Home: Walls Close In

The walls of my home used to feel like a haven. Now they constrict, a constant reminder of my limited freedom. Days bleed together, marked only by the click of the timepiece and the heavy weight in my chest. Every sound from outside is a sharp pang of what I miss.

Surviving on Lockdown

Life as we experienced it has drastically altered. The world outside our doors is a blur of its former self. We are now stuck within the limits of our homes, forced to adapt to a new reality. The days run together, marked by the cycle of online meetings, binging media, and cooking. We yearn for the simple joys that were once assumed for granted: a hike in the park, a coffee with friends, or even just a conversation without a screen between us.

This new existence has brought challenges, but it has also revealed unexpected qualities within ourselves and our communities. We have learned to be more compassionate, more inventive, and more thankful for the mundane things in life. As we navigate this unknown territory, we must stay hopeful that brighter days are coming.

Just Beyond the Six-Foot Mark

Life behind bars is a harsh reality. Every day, you face boundaries that feel like an unbreakable barrier. The world outside seems so close, yet it's separated by just that symbolic distance of six feet.

Sometimes, the weight of those bars feels suffocating. You desire freedom with every fiber of your being. The constant ticking of time serves as a constant echo that you're trapped.

But even in the darkest moments, there's a gleam of hope. A hope that one day, you'll step over those bars and finally be free. That day might seem impossible, but it's a dream worth holding onto.

Chains of Liberty

The allure of freedom can be a powerful force. Yet, paradoxically, it can even lead to confinement. This manifests when the very notion of freedom becomes twisted, transforming into a tool for control and domination.

True freedom demands not only the absence of external constraints but also the nurturing of internal strength. When this inner base is lacking, even in a society that values freedom, individuals can find themselves ensnared within the limitations of their own minds.

Consequently, the true measure of freedom lies in our ability to liberate ourselves the constraints that impede our potential, both externally and internally.
